In mid-September 2025, after a nationwide ban on 26 social apps Nepali Gen-Z organizers migrated to Discord. The Youth Against Corruption (YAC) server, managed by Hami Nepal, scaled past 100k members and operated like a "digital parliament"—hosting debates, logistics, fact-checking, helplines, and a symbolic election that nominated former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as interim PM figure. This case illustrates rapid, tech-enabled participatory democracy under platform restrictions.
